Kingswill Specialist Hospital was established in 2013 by the late Dr Kingsley Ike Onwuzuruigbo, a fertility doctor and consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist. A graduate of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos, he trained further in Advanced Infertility Management in India before returning home to build something Lagos needed: a hospital where couples struggling to conceive could find every stage of care, from first consultation to delivery, under one roof.
The hospital was registered as a private hospital in 2017, and has since grown into a facility offering both an Advanced Fertility Centre and full general hospital services — antenatal care, gynaecological surgery, paediatrics, and a dedicated neonatal unit for newborns who need extra support.
A mission built on empathy
What set Dr Onwuzuruigbo apart was not just clinical skill, but how personally he took each couple's journey. Infertility can be isolating — for many patients, the hardest part is not the treatment itself but the years of waiting, hoping, and being asked questions they cannot answer. He built Kingswill around the idea that a fertility clinic should feel less like a hospital and more like a team standing beside you.
